The empress Maria Theresa submitted samples of Jamnica for chemical analysis and the same year it was listed in the register of mineral waters. Afterwards, in 1777 Heinrich Johann von Grantz (Lower Austria government advisor) published the analysis in his book.
Beginning of the defined development of the use of Jamnica and filling of first bottles intended for market.
No less than 5000 bottles of Jamnica were filled in 1829.
The baths and health resort started to operate in Jamnica, which will continue until 1870. The same year 14,333 bottles were filled.
During 1863 and 1864 Josip Juraj Strossmayer stayed at the health resort, and the Croatian politician Ante Starčević and Augustin Harambašić used to stop by. The latter wrote the most famous slogan at the time “Tko Jamničku vodu pije rado – taj će imat život dug i srce mlado” (If you like to drink Jamnica water, you will have a long life and young heart).
In the late 19th century, Jamnica was sold to Vilim Lovrenčić, who modernized the bottling plant in 1899 and organized the sale approach by using advertisements, posters and newspaper ads.
A new well field based on modern principles was built in 1932.
Springs are taken over by Agrokombinat from Zagreb.
In 1964, two automated lines were installed and the bottling plant was modernized.
The company Marijan Badel buys the Jamnička kiselica mineral water plant from Agrokombinat.
In 1978, a new bottling plant was opened in Jamnička kiselica, and the same year, on 30 December at 11:30 am the 50 millionth bottle of natural mineral water was filled.
In May 1982, the production program was broadened with low-calorie drinks based on mineral water under the name Jana, in two refreshing flavors: lemon and orange.
The bottling plant was shelled already in October 1991. In war havoc, business facilities, mineral water bottling line, packaging and almost all products were destroyed by the mid 1992.
During 1993, investments were made into the three most modern lines, more than 50 ecological truck vehicles and 20 forklifts were procured, and distribution centers in Zagreb, Split, Rijeka and Osijek were established.
By buying a share in Mladina d.d. Jamnica becomes present in the wine production segment as well.
Jamnica d.d. became a majority owner of Sarajevski kiseljak. This is the largest and the most advanced mineral water factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with rich history and tradition, as well as the market leader in the production and sales of mineral water.
Mid-2002. Jamnica starts bottling natural mineral water Jana, which will soon gain numerous fans in Croatia and all around the world.
July 2004. Jamnica becomes the majority owner of the mineral water bottling plant Fonyodi in Hungary.
In late April 2007, Jamnica launches a new 1 L glass bottle, together with a new split box, which represents an innovation on the Croatian market.
In August 2008 Jamnica presents to the market new products based on natural mineral water Jamnica – flavored mineral water Jamnica Sensation, which comes in two different flavors: lemon-lime and tangerine-mapo.
Following Croatian accession to the EU, Jana adopted the name NATURAL STILL MINERAL WATER, under which it has been present on the European market since 2002, therefore being recognized as one of the best. At the time, Jana was the only Croatian natural still mineral water officially registered on the European Commission’s list.
In October 2013, Jana launched the campaign called Jana, Water with a Message, whose aim was to inspire and motivate people to adopt positive changes through inspirational messages found on the back of the bottle. This way Jana, in addition to hydration water, offers a grain of wisdom for inspiration.
Seeing a need for charity work, as part of the campaign “Jana, Water with a Message”, applications were invited for projects to enter the Jana donation program. By visiting the website www.vodasporukom.com all Croatian citizens donated good drops, and this way helped Jamnica make donations to associations and non-profit organizations.
In spring 2018, on the occasion of 190 years of its existence, Jamnica launched 6 differently styled retro edition labels inspired by its long history. With this special edition, Jamnica sent a message that it stayed with its consumers in all the important moments and adapted its packaging to habits and wishes of its customers.
