How do we develop formulas and products?

The development of a new product is a complex process, and it takes at least a year and a half to turn an idea into a product that is ready for production and finding its way to consumers. Our experts invest their knowledge, experience and creativity in the development of each individual formula. The formula of each product is the result of our know-how, and all the formulas are developed in our state-of-the-art R&D lab.

We keep following global trends and constantly tracking of what is happening in the beverages industry on both a global and regional scale, while also coming up with new ways of providing our consumers with fresh ideas and products that reflect our innovation and creativity.

Our developmental ideas are evaluated against an established set of criteria by a team of experts in various fields. When testing ideas, it is important to consider the opinions of our potential customers. The key element of further developmental activities is finding out whether our customers like the look, and most importantly, the flavour of a given new product, and if there is even a need or desire for such a new product.

The product development process itself can, in the strict sense, be divided into two main segments: formula development and packaging development. Each segment of development is immensely interesting and quite challenging, and, when put together, they form an inextricable whole which is necessary for the final product’s market success.

The product formula development process itself includes the making of samples in a laboratory, running a series of different tests, reformulating, and adaptation to production conditions.

Quality control of raw materials and final product, as well as packaging, is one of our most important tasks, and the related processes/procedures are compliant with EU standards. Physical, chemical and microbiological analyses of the input raw material and finished product are regularly being performed in our state-of-the-art laboratories, along with regular sensory analyses of the raw material and the finished product.

Development of packaging

Packaging development is one of the key factors in the success of a new product, as the packaging must protect the product and be convenient. Today’s consumers expect products that are a blend of premium design and functionality. Packaging should be simple to use, while at the same time featuring innovative details that add value to the product and make it stand out among the rest.

Packaging development is a complex and demanding process as, besides creating an attractive outward appearance of the product it also involves a host of other criteria that must be met, including those related to the entire logistics chain, ranging from the production of the packaging material and its technological features to technical solutions in production lines.
