Prevent spring fatigue – drink enough water

Why do you feel spring fatigue?

Spring is a very exciting time of the year. The awakening of nature is in full swing, these changes are felt in our body, and its needs for energy increase. The widely known feeling of “spring fatigue” occurs. This occurrence is characterised by a feeling of exhaustion, and it occurs as the body is trying to adapt to the new season where the days become longer, with more sunlight and higher temperatures.

Help your body

One of the ways of helping your body overcome spring fatigue is through proper hydration. It is a known fact that the body’s need for hydration remains constant regardless of the season, and that proper hydration is vital in satisfying the body’s needs in order for it to function properly. As a consequence, you’ll notice a positive effect on your cognitive abilities and overall mood. Signs of fatigue, low energy levels, headaches, having a hard time concentrating can all be clear symptoms of the body lacking water. One of the ways of checking whether your body’s hydration level is satisfactory is the colour of your urine. Pay attention to whether the colour of your urine is light yellow, which is what it should be, while darker shades may indicate insufficient hydration.

Remind yourself

The adequate daily water intake for a healthy adult person with a sedentary lifestyle living in moderate ambient temperature conditions should range from approximately 1.6 to 2 litres (8–10 200 ml glasses) of water. This basic amount of water is recommended all year round, regardless of the season. The pristine purity and mineral composition of natural mineral water is an excellent choice for everyday hydration.
